Summary
In Chapter 7, with an attack by Noriyori’s forces and Yoshitsune’s forces underway, Yoshitsune and his personal command of troops attack Ichi-no-Tani from the Hiyodorigoe Cliffs. The Taira defenders panicked and fled. With the fort taken, the defenders fighting Noriyori also gave up. Many Taira defenders evacuated by boat. Others escaped into the mountains. Many others were killed. Among those who escaped were Munemori, Emperor Antoku, and the imperial regalia. Yoshitsune knows the war will continue, as the Taira will not give up without a fight, and as the Taira still control all of western Japan.
