Chapter 10 Summary

Sandy McDougall wakes up late and realizes that something is wrong. Usually, Randy has woken her up by now. She goes to check on the baby and finds him dead. Although he is usually bruised up from her abuse, his bruises have all healed and he looks beautifully lifelike. Terrified, she refuses to believe he is dead. She shakes him, yells his name several times, and even stuffs him into his high chair and feeds him. When the food plops out of his mouth, however, she finally starts screaming.

At the Glick home, Marjorie is sick and she falls down in the living room. Her husband, Tony, thinks that she is sick. He wants to call the doctor, but Marjorie asks him not to. Although neither Tony nor Marjorie realize it, she shows all of the typical signs of having been bitten by...
