Addie and Jack are at her house, watching Jeopardy. Addie starts to touch him and he tries to resist, but he soon gives in. They stop when they hear a noise outside and Jack goes to see what it is. Jack gets beat up by several men. Gillian thinks how mad she is that Jack rebuffed her and treated her like a child. She plans to meet with her friends later to celebrate Beltane, and she takes the atropine out to use at the celebration. She lies to Amos that she will be sleeping over Meg's house.
