Summary
In Chapter 16, Nora is the character of focus. When Mrs. Quinlan gave up her responsibilities as hostess for the family Nora took that job over. Sometimes she got tired of having her apartment full of family especially when she wanted to get her own children to bed early. She dreamed of living in Hull, away from family, and looked at real estate listings in her spare time. Now that she was pregnant with her fourth baby she knew they would never have the money to move. She was seeing a different doctor for this pregnancy, one who suggested Lamaze and said Charlie should be in the delivery room for the birth.
Nora worried more than ever about Patrick. Once she wrote in a letter to Theresa about Patrick’s antics and received a response asking her not to be too hard on him...
