Summary
On Saturdays, the church performs good works. Ian takes the three children. Thomas and Daphne love it. Agatha has to be talked into going. Ian meets Eli Everjohn. He is visiting the family of one of the church members. He is a private detective. Ian asks if he could find Agatha and Thomas’ missing father.
Bee’s arthritis has left her disabled. It leaves Ian to take care of the house and children mostly on his own. Agatha is a studious girl and ignored by her classmates. Thomas is very sociable and has many friends. Daphne always feels that she has to fend for herself. Ian works at Mr. Brant’s shop. The business is good, and he keeps busy. Jeanie, a co-worker, tries to get Ian to go out with her and her friends, but he refuses.
