Point of View

The story’s narration is written in the past tense and the limited third person. The story is told strictly from Chiu’s point of view. The narration conveys Chiu’s thoughts and emotions in addition to his actions and observations. This mode of perspective is integral to the narrative, as Chiu’s personal transformation is a centerpiece of the overall story.
