Summary

In Chapter 21, Roman feels terrified as Shane orders him to search a house and take any inhabitants captive. He finds Iris in the closet and immediately recognizes her. Iris tells Roman she is his wife in Chapter 22. He urges her to escape the house and promises they will reunite when the time is right. She hands him her wedding ring as a token.

In Chapter 23, Dacre’s soldiers scream at Iris to halt as she sprints towards Tobias’ roadster. They drive off, pursued by hounds, which they succeed in outrunning. Dacre declares that there is a traitor in his ranks in Chapter 24. Roman recalls his wedding vows.
