Chapters 21 through 25

In Chapter 21, Gabe and Mia are leaving the office when they run into Ash, who has returned for a file, but he does not appear to have heard them in Gabe’s office. Ash and Mia flirt innocently and she thinks about how attractive he is but realizes nothing can happen between them. Back at the apartment, Mia gets dressed up and she and Gabe go to dinner, where he tells her about his father’s regrets about the divorce. Later they dance very close and Mia loves the intimacy between them, feeling that she could fall in love with this version of Gabe. After sex in the car, Gabe drops her at his apartment and leaves to meet Ash and Jace.
