Nest Freemark
Nest Freemark is a teenage girl who lives in Hopewell, Illinois, with her grandmother, Evelyn, and her grandfather, Old Bob. She is the custodian of the Sinnissippi park, located near her home. The women of her family have been guardians of the park for many years, in service to the Word, the force of good in the world. Nest's main adversaries in the park are the feeders, strange beings that devour people and try to lure kids into the park. Nest has noticed they have become more active and she has saved more and more children lately. Her grandmother, who she calls Gran, knows about Nest's magic, but her grandfather does not.
