Carla
Carla is a young woman who lives with her husband, Clark, in a mobile home on a farm. Together, she and Clark offer trail rides to patrons on the farm. Carla had run away to marry Clark instead of going to college, much to the disappointment of her family. Now, Carla is unhappy in her marriage to Clark. She cries often, convinced that Clark despises her and worried about his quick temper. Carla shares her distress with her neighbor, Sylvia, who helps Carla escape to Toronto. But Carla becomes wary of starting a new life, and worries about living without Clark. She returns home and continues her life with Clark, despite having the same feelings and concerns she had before.
