Summary

A vivid dream opens Part V: Dissolving the Boundaries. Polley's dream is that she is walking on Prince Edward Island, and six-year-old Eve holds her hand and smiles up at her with joy. A bit later, the two walk on a red sand beach, and they both feel a bit more trepidation. Polley hears the words "dissolve the boundaries" many times over. Polley tells her husband David about the dream and her strong desire to go to Prince Edward Island, and he drops everything to make the trip happen. Prince Edward Island holds many memories, not all good, for Polley because she worked there for many years on Road to Avonlea as a child actor.
