Summary
In Chapter 28, Simon learns that Luther has been released on bail, still claiming that either Simon or Ingrid shot first. Detective Isaac Fagbenle asks again who shot Luther. This time, Simon knows that Cornelius shot Luther, but he denies knowing anything. Simon is angry and says he wants to go to Ingrid's room. He is interrupted by a phone call and is surprised that Professor Louis van de Beek is calling. Louis is teaching at Columbia for a semester and they make a plan to meet.
The novel reverts to Elena's point of view. She manages to get Allison's current name and address, and learns she lives with a woman named Stephanie Mars. Elena is debating making the drive to the address when Lou, a man who works for her company, calls. He directs her to a DNA website and she recognizes this...
