Chapters 7-8 Summary

At the next group meeting, the detectives decide they don't have much useful information in their notebooks. They don't know for sure that the serial killer is from the Southwest but it is something to go on. Lucas reports that he found the person who took the gun. He will interview the widow that afternoon. When Daniel mentions the leak to Jennifer Carey about the survivor, someone suggests that it might have come from St. Paul. Lucas says he is checking leads on doctors and that they should look for common threads. The group also discusses the fact that the post office information on forwarding addresses is not computerized and would take a team of men three months or longer to check the post offices in the Southwest. They discuss other possibilities, like driver's licenses.
