Summary

In “Clapham Common,” May flew “from New York to London to see Rose” (227). When she arrived, her bag was missing.

Rose lived “on a street called the Pavement” (229). May observed and admired her space. Rose took May to Samuel Johnson’s house. Afterwards, they had lunch. Vanessa texted May. Rose encouraged her to respond.

May and Rose spent the majority of the time at Rose’s apartment. Rose was intrigued when May received a postcard from Leo. That night, May got her bag back.
