Summary

In Chapter 16, Alina and her friends decided to attack from West Ravka. They split up and half of them rode the Bittern across the Fold to an abandoned apple farm in Novokribirsk called Tmilkyan to set up base then went back to meet up with the sun soldiers. While Alina and her friends were waiting, Nikolai appeared to Alina. She showed him the ring he had given her and he slowly approached her. He took the ring and put it on her hand, then communicated to her that he wanted her to use her light on him. She tried, but the darkness inside him fought back and he nearly bit her. He flew away into the Fold before he could do any damage. Once they were all at the apple orchard, they finalized their plans for attacking the Darkling. Mal took Alina...
