Summary

In Chapter 7, Vivian woke in a panic on Christmas Eve thinking about all the reasons she should not stay the extra days with Malcolm. When she thought of all the fun she had with him, she reconsidered. Hoping to help herself come to a decision, Vivian wrote out a list of pros and cons. Unfortunately, she wound up with four points both in favor of and against staying with Malcolm. When it was time for dinner that night, Vivian still had not come to a decision.

Before dinner was served, Malcolm handed Vivian a sheet of paper and explained that it was her new itinerary. He said he had booked her on a later flight and had extended her hotel reservation in case she did not feel comfortable staying in his apartment. He noticed that Vivian was no longer smiling.
