London is the home of Captain Harry Flashman, war hero and borderline socialite. Flash lives in a house in the city with his wife, Elspeth, daughter of a wealthy Scotsman.
London is going through a dramatic change since the coronation of Queen Victoria. Flash laments that the city is turning puritanical with less revealing clothes for the women, and bans on some of his favorite activities such as whores, gambling, and drinking.
