Chapters 99-109 Summary
On the fifth floor of Hazelwood, a patient is agitated. His privileges to leave the hospital had been temporarily revoked and he didn't care for his counselor's line of questioning earlier in the day. He writes an angry yet organized letter. Taking control of himself he puts on his poker face and leaves his room. He had felt safe at the hospital among the patients until he saw Detective Cross enter the ward. Alex wasn't interested in him, though. Instead, he engaged Cletus Anderson, who fit the physical profile and was known to be dangerous. It was fortunate for Alex that Cletus was medicated because he was big, strong, and easily provoked. Speaking with Cletus neither ruled him in or out as a suspect.
