Chapters 76-89 Summary
With no strong leads, Alex and the FBI team decide to interview people at the MetroHartford headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut. The day is uneventful until Alex's last interview of the day. A woman named Hildie Rader claims to have met one of the kidnappers. According to her story, he had approached her at a local bar. He seemed to know a lot about her, including her affiliation with MetroHartford, even though they had never met. Her story is corroborated by another woman, Betsy Becton, whom he had also approached. According to the two women, the kidnapper had been in Hartford conducting research for at least a week prior to the robbery. Using descriptions provided by the women, a composite sketch is created for aid in identifying the perpetrator. Alex and Betsey finish their long work day with drinks and dinner at...
