Three days pass in relative peace. Jannie is healing, there are no more robberies, and Alex spends time with his youngest son, Alex Junior. When it is time to return Alex Junior to his mom, Christine announces her intention to move away. She knows that her preoccupation with Shafer and her past are preventing her from being a stable mother to Alex Junior, so she has decided to leave him with Alex and Nana for the near future. Alex is distraught by her decision. Even though he was coming to terms with the ending of their relationship, he never thought that she would move away, or that they wouldn't spend time together as a family.
