Chapters 13-18 Summary
In Chapter 13, Colin couldn't believe Penelope wouldn't let Cressida get away with claiming that she's Lady Whistledown. He thought it was perfect that Cressida would take the blame so Penelope's reputation wouldn't be ruined. Penelope said that she had spent the last decade knowing what would happen if people found out. She knew how serious the repercussions were, but she didn't care. People acted as if she wasn't around anyway. Those who did talk with her pitied her, including his family.
Penelope admitted how hard she worked on her writing, but he puts her down. She accused him of running off whenever responsibility was involved. He couldn't believe she was talking with her like that, and she pointed out that there was more to her than anyone, including herself, thought.
