Chapter 19 Summary and Analysis
Chapter 19, p. 267—-SEAL Six is actually under the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) of Brigadier General Dick Scholtes, but the unit's money management is run by Commodore Ted Lyon of NAVSPECWARGRU TWO. Ted often complains when Richard demands special foreign equipment like German cars and guns, but Richard usually gets his way. In training, SEAL SIX learn to parachute from high planes and glide to a target, or wait until the last minute to open their parachutes. They learn to quickly drop down on a ship from ropes hung from a helicopter.
