Summary

Hillary starts to prepare for the Democratic debates that fall. Nick Chess agrees to play Bill in their mock debate, five days before the real one. Hillary thinks that it is possible Bill could “come off better in the debate than I did, but it was not possible that he could have prepared more thoroughly” (371). After the mock debate, Hillary’s campaign manager tells her that an article was posted that Hillary had sexually harassed a member of her staff in the nineties. She says the woman - Jill Perkins - claims during Hillary’s first Senate campaign “you forced her to shave your legs” (372). Greg says she was his assistant until he fired her for incompetence and Hillary thinks they need to triage this.
