Libby Sawyer is a sixteen-year-old girl. Over a year ago, her mother and sister were killed in a car accident. So despondent with grief, her father lost his job and their house. He finally took her to her Aunt Marge's and disappeared. Libby is an outcast in her new town because of her tragedy and her crazy aunt. She spends her days cut off from the world, always studying or drawing.

Everything changes for Libby when she meets Peter Jamieson. Peter is a famous singer with a sibling boy band, but Libby is unaware of this. For this reason, she and Peter are able to forge a genuine affection for one another. Peter wants to save Libby from her circumstances, but before he can interference from his family and the arrest of her aunt causes Libby to disappear from his life.
