Summary
In Chapter 9, Aquamarine: Openness, Expression, Clarity, Benedict wonders why Gemma has brought so few things with her. He notes that on her personal notepad, she has drawn a heart with “GS and DJ 4eva”written inside. Gemma presses Benedict for more details about the visit to Estelle’s the previous evening. Gemma says her father should have gone after her mother, and nothing would have happened. When Benedict asks what, Gemma says she does not wish to talk about it. Benedict uses some time at the shop to work on an anniversary necklace for Estelle. He also wants to take time to teach Gemma how to brew tea, but Gemma says she will stick with water and juice.
