Summary

Ella visits Kev in prison in person. He has a cut on his head and he asks Ella if she is going to ask who hurt him. Ella is angry but does not ask. She is distracted reading the mind of one of the corrections officers (COs), who is having an affair with a prisoner she knows from her neighborhood. Ella also knows that another prisoner has a sharp object hidden on his body, which he plans to use to stab an Aryan inmate. She flits in and out of the minds of several other inmates. Ella wants to tell Kev to do his best to survive. She wishes she could go back in time and stop Kev from committing the robbery.

Later, Ella astral projects to Kev's cell. She takes him with her through a vision of Mississippi, where their mother is...
