Part 2: Chapter 5 Summary
The Wheelers' daughter, Jennifer, becomes emotional at the thought of packing up and moving to Europe, breaks down, and cries into April's lap as Frank stands quietly at the door. April tries to comfort her by assuring Jenifer that the move to Europe will be for a very long time but that doesn't seem to work. April sends her outside to play with her brother, Michael. Frank Wheeler tells his wife he's concerned that the move might be too much for the children, and April replies brusquely that they'll get over it. Yes, Frank agrees, but asks if it also makes sense to break their arms and ignore them just because they'll eventually get over it. April and Frank have their first fight in weeks.
