Schuyler Van Alen

Schuyler Van Alen is the main character of the novel. She attends the Duchense School, which is a school that helps Blue Bloods make the transition into vampires. Her classmates treat her as if she is invisible and an outcast. She has blue eyes and doll-like features. She is one of the last of the Van Alens, which is a prestigious family that has dwindled over the centuries. She is also a vampire. Schuyler's best friend is Bliss Llewellyn.

Schuyler's grandfather, Lawrence, was the Head of the Blue Bloods, in a position known as the Regis. He was forced to step down from the position and Bliss's father, Senator Charles Llewellyn took his place. After the death of her grandmother, Schuyler was sent to live in the Force family because she was suspected of being a traitor, a Silver Blood.
