Point of View
The point of view of the novel is always changing, though it is centered around Chase and his story for the most part. The book adheres to a single narrative thread and tells the same, cohesive story throughout all the chapters. However, all chapters are narrated in the first-person (and present tense) by a different character. The narrating characters include: Chase, Shoshanna, Brendan, Kimberly, Aaron, Joel, and Bear. Chase narrates the most chapters with 12, Shoshanna and Brendan narrate six each, Aaron and Joel narrate two each, and Kimberly and Bear narrate one apiece.
