Structure
It is unclear how much say Chomsky had over the structure of this book, as it is a transcript of condensed interviews compiled by three editors, Peter Hutchinson, Kelly Nyks, and Jared P. Scott. As the ten sections and their ideas sometimes overlap and mesh, it can be presumed that the editors pieced together the collection of interviews in a more structured way than they were originally given. Regardless, the division of the study into ten concise chapters allows for a quick and fluent read. Chomsky and the editors have also chosen to include a plethora of primary sources at the end of each chapter, a reference list at the end of the book for said sources, and a detailed index. As a professor and a career -intellectual, Chomsky seeks to educate not only though his own words, but though a vast array of historical references.
