Chapter Three, Part 12 Summary
After eating her lunch, Sara checks the mailbox again and debates the success of the diet in her mind. She is already starving and despite the techniques that the book suggests she can't ignore the feeling. She takes her folding chair and goes to sit outside of her building and show her hair off to her friends. Sara tells the other ladies about her diet and one of them recommends a doctor she knows who may be able to give her diet pills. Sara finally gets an envelope from the television company with a questionnaire enclosed. Sara goes to her apartment to fill out the paperwork, giving them her social security number, date of birth and all of the intrusive questions they ask.
