Chapter Three, Part 1 Summary

Tyrone and Harry walk through their area, solidifying their plan to sell drugs. They have seen many users with the same plan end up strung out or dead. Tyrone mentions that guys get work at the newspaper building, loading the 5 a.m. trucks. They are sidetracked when they get a tip on a potent stash of drugs at someone named Windy's. They get enough heroin to last to the next day so they put off work again and visit a friend named Tony instead. Tony's apartment is littered with "people getting high, getting higher, or wondering why they weren't high yet." Tony sits in the only chair in the apartment watching television, smoking marijuana and quietly cursing at the characters on the television.
