Summary
In Chapter 29, narrated by Kenna, Ledger takes Kenna to see the house he is building. It means a good deal to her that he trusts her. They sit on the deck and watch the sunset. When Ledger takes her hand and leans his forehead against hers, she asks him how he plans to hide her from the Landrys. He jokes that his closet is really big.
In Chapter 30, narrated by Ledger, the next night at the bar, Ledger realizes he wants to end the back and forth with Kenna. He wants to be able to take her home with him. Kenna, however, takes him up on an offer to borrow money to leave town.
