many Victorian female writers were thought of as
"saints," often at the expense of seeing them for who
they really were. With such chapter titles as "Poet
Worship Meets 'Woman' Worship" and "Canonization
of Christina Rossetti," this book is a good read
for those who want a better grasp of the environment
in which Victorian women wrote and lived.
