Chapter 34

After dinner that night, Justin chooses to help Laura with the dishes. She is very happy. She tells him that the driving today was a test that he’d passed, and now he will be her chauffeur. Justin smiles and thanks her for permission to see Marcy. He says to keep her from worrying, he’ll tell her when he plans to go there. Laura is very happy. When Laura tells him how happy she had been to get his arrowhead post card, he is baffled. He says he didn’t send it and had never been to California.

After dishes, unknown to the rest of them, Griff sneaks out to Fiona’s house. He tells Fiona that things are weird at his house…they’d prayed at the table and his mom discovered that the arrowhead post card wasn...
