Summary
In Chapter 9, they continue practicing the reenactment every day over the following weeks. They encounter unforeseen problems. For example, the grease and steam from constantly cooking liver causes damage to the walls, vents, and windows, which must be fixed and cleaned. One day, the protagonist sees that the pianist has stopped playing, and instead the pianist has set up a recording of his playing. The pianist explains that he plays the recording when he has to leave, such as to go to an audition. The protagonist is furious. He says that a recording will not suffice, and he tells the pianist to keep playing. Sometimes, the protagonist has the reenactment going while he simply lies in the tub in the apartment reserved for him. Other ties, he works hard on practicing and perfecting his own actions in the reenactment. Eventually, he starts ordering reenactors...
