Summary
In Chapter 7, the protagonist proceeds with the project after purchasing the building. With Nazrul managing logistics, they hire people to make all of the necessary changes to the building, so that it matches the protagonist’s vision exactly. The process is highly complicated and involves the hiring of many different craftspeople. The protagonist loves how busy the work keeps him. They audition actors to play the protagonist’s various neighbors. The neighbors would have to live in the apartment building and be available full-time. Most of the actors feel false to the protagonist, and so they advertise the work in publications geared towards regular people. The protagonist faces frustrations with interior designers, as the designers often want some creative freedom, whereas the protagonist wants them to follow his instructions down to the last detail.
