Summary
In Chapter 26, Clara sits in her car, feeling numb. She knows she was wrong for sneaking Miller in and having sex with him, but she also believes her mother has lost the privilege of telling her what to do. When Clara tells Miller this, she can tell that he does not like her stance, but he does not try to argue with her.
Later, Clara congratulates herself for being able to walk into Jonah’s room for class and not punch him. However, Clara throws her phone when Jonah asks her to stop texting. He motions for her to go into the hallway. In the hallway, Jonah turns Clara around to face him and hugs her. He says he is sorry. She cries because the smell of his shirt and feel of his hug reminds her of her father.
