Summary

In Chapter 21, narrated by Morgan, sitting on the back patio together, Jonah asks Morgan if she would have left Chris if she had not gotten pregnant. Morgan does not answer. She goes back inside. Jonah follows her to her bedroom and asks if they are going to talk about what happened in the kitchen.

Morgan at first denies anything happened, but seeing Jonah’s disappointment says that she feels like “shit” (200) because she almost kissed her husband’s best friend and sister’s fiancé after her husband had been dead only a few weeks. Morgan tells him they need to think about Clara and Elijah, instead of themselves. She accuses Jonah of being selfish for leaving when they were teens.
