Summary

In Chapter 4, which is told from the first-person point of view of Clara, Clara realizes she should not have called her mother predictable when she wakes up to discover that she has not fixed breakfast.

Jenny arrives to drop off the baby, Elijah. Morgan will keep Elijah while Jenny is at work. Clara follows Jenny outside to tell her that Miller unfriended her on Instagram. Jenny advises Clara not to take it too personally. She also suggests that perhaps Shelby saw it and got angry. On the way to school, Lexie tells Clara that Shelby and Miller broke up, apparently because of Clara.

In Jonah’s classroom, Jonah tells Clara that Miller is the student who is looking for a partner. Miller tells Jonah that he cannot work with Clara as a partner. He explains to Clara that Shelby broke up with him...
