Summary
Chapter seven begins with a description of Micah's Sunday morning. He leaves for his run. It is his day off from work, so when he returns he faces boredom and indecision as to how he wants to spend his day. Micah finally decides to visit the free-book place in order to find something to read. Upon exiting his building, he finds a team of emergency responders taking away Luella. Micah walks over to her husband, Donnie, who tells him that Luella had taken "a turn" (140). Micah offers to drive Donnie to the hospital, but he declines.
As the ambulance pulls away, Micah finds Brink watching the scene from the used-clothing store. Micah confronts Brink and asks him what he is doing. Brink explains that he needed new clothes, which he had purchased at the used-clothing store by Micah's house. Micah then invites Brink...
