Summary

Chapter four describes the dinner at Ada's home that is being thrown for Joey and Lily. Micah arrives at his sister's home, where he is agitated by all the clutter in the house, and the chaos of so many people in one place. Micah is first spotted at the house by Ada's husband, Phil. He asks Micah where Cass is. Micah responds that she could not make it due to a prior engagement. Micah is then introduced to Lily. Joey then explains to Micah how he and Lily met while he was temporarily working at an organic food store. Then Suze, Micah's youngest sister, brings him a beer and asks him where Cass is. This time Micah admits to his family that he "thinks" he and Cass have broken up (73).
