Chapter Twenty-six Summary
When the Altmans come over for another visit, Angel finds herself in conversation with a now very pregnant Elizabeth. As they watch the others work and play, Elizabeth confides that she was hoping for Miriam to fall in love with Paul, but that she seems to be in love with Michael instead. Elizabeth immediately regrets her words, but Angel assures her that she had the same suspicions, and she completely trusts Miriam and Michael. Later, in an encounter with Paul, Angel tries to stand up for herself. Paul, however, tells her she is merely a good actress, and that Michael must see the difference between Angel and Miriam. Angel does remain close to Miriam, however, and even answers some of her questions about her former life. Miriam expresses desire for love and for children, and Angel realizes that she and Miriam...
