Summary
Alex comes out his mother as bisexual, and even though she fully supports him, she is concerned when she finds out he is dating Henry. She is still supportive but asks him if he understands the risks of doing what he is doing, preparing a PowerPoint to show the pros and cons. Because of the optics of his relationship, she has Alex remove himself from the campaign. Alex begins to wither without the campaign to occupy him and he spends long days exchanging love-filled emails with Henry, who consoles him.
For July 4th, Alex, June, and Nora go to Oscar's lake house in Texas, where Henry is invited as well. Oscar immediately understands the nature of their relationship.
