As symbols, colors vary depending on the culture and situation. For example, Americans consider white the color of purity and black the color of mourning. In Reha's culture, white is the color of mourning. Reha's mother wore a red sari for her wedding.

Accents

An accent is usually a symbol of a person's origin, and an accent can be a symbol that the person is not speaking their native language. Reha's parents have a noticeable accent when they speak English, but Reha's accent is even more pronounced when she tries to speak their native language.

Birthday Parties
