Summary
In Chapter 10, Egorov received a surveillance bulletin describing how FSB officers followed an American who did not appear to know he was being followed. The man went into Sokolniki Park to wait but no one ever appeared. The surveillance officers did not realize that their movement had been spotted by MARBLE who did not meet with the diplomat because of all the FSB officers he spotted. Vanya sensed they had missed the mole they were trying to catch. He received a phone call from Putin suggesting they show success in a counterespionage attack against America. As a result of the phone call, Egorov called for Zyuganov and Dominika. Dominika had been released from service with Simyonov and was working with Korchnoi. When she was asked, Dominika argued that it was because of people like Simyonov that the service was struggling to exist.
