Chapter 20 Summary
Lounds leaves work around noon on Tuesday after working most of the day on a paperback novel of the Tooth Fairy case. Lounds heads home long enough to pack a suitcase, before he has to catch another plane to Washington. When Lounds steps out of his car, someone grabs him from behind and presses a rag covered in chloroform over his mouth.
Dolarhyde parks his van behind his house and rolls Lounds out the back in a wheelchair. Lounds is stuck to the chair with epoxy glue. Lounds's eyes and mouth are covered with sanitary napkins. Dolarhyde rolls him into the parlor, removes the napkins, and then covers Lounds with a blanket. Lounds is unsure of what has happened to him, mistakenly believing he has been in an accident and is now in a hospital. However, Dolarhyde begins to talk to him about...
