Summary

Merris invited Maggie to move into her basement suite. Leaving her apartment “was less emotionally wrenching” than expected (155). The Laurens helped her pack and move. She gave one Lauren her wedding and engagement rings. After they left, Maggie told herself this could be the place she changed. She considered keeping a journal, but felt bored.

Maggie sold her old clothes “to the secondhand store” (160). She bumped into Simon. A tee shirt she was selling from her bachelorette party made him realize she was married. They went out for a drink afterwards.
