At the White House, Dana and Gene are going through the receiving line and notice that Ashley Fleming is standing next to the President. She is a Washington divorcee. Dana is upset because she is wearing the same dress. They meet the President and he introduces Ashley Fleming. They meet Admiral Sandecker after leaving the receiving line and Gene thanks him for the little favor. Dana goes off to find a drink for her boss, leaving the men to talk. Gene learns that the First Attempt reached a Navy base in the Firth of Clyde earlier that afternoon. Gene wants to know why he wasn't notified.
