Chapter 35, Marathon Summary
Popov, Maclean, Hunnicut and Killgore meet for for breakfast before an early morning ride. After getting to their horses, Popov notices that Hunnicut has a revolver. Hunnicut explains he never rides without it. During their ride, Popov notices a Greyhound bus traveling on a near-by highway. He is told that there is a bus station at the squat little building across the way. Hunnicut and Popov arrange to ride again that evening.
John Clark contacts Chuck Baker, Assistant Director, Criminal Division, FBI, to check on their progress in tracking the Russian down. Baker tells Clark that if the Russian is there his agents will find him. Clark assures Baker that the Brits are on it on that side of the pond.
